Forever Bound

“Forever Bound” explores the intrinsic interconnectedness of living beings through both intimate emotional ties and instinctual symbiotic functions within habitat. A mirrored duo of bats and swans on top of a gradient background of a pale orange, olive to forest greens, and cool, light indigo; each developed through custom mixed inks. The swans face one another in adoration; surrounded by sparks and stars.  To their upper right “forever” is written. The bats are conjoined, sharing a large set of wings but separate brains and hearts. To their upper right “bound” is written.  In opposing corners are a beetle with fruit and a clam shell with four pearls.

Created for a group print trade while taking a printmaking class, this piece was based on a prompt to reference the number “4”.
